Sam Learns the Truth
| Sam uncovers one mother
of a secret this week on GH, when she overhears Liz and Jason talking
about *their* child. "When Liz wakes up [after giving birth], the first thing she sees is Jason holding their baby," sets up Rebecca Herbst. "They have a nice moment and Liz realizes that keeping this secret is going to be harder than she thought." "The whole idea of giving away a kid that wasn't here yet was a lot easier," agrees Steve Burton. "Now that the baby is here, Jason is like, 'What am I doing?' There's the reality of: 'Hey, I'm the father and you're the mother of this baby'. It intensifies the connection between Liz and Jason." It gets more complicated when Liz begins hemorrhaging and is rushed into surgery. "Liz made Jason promise that if something were to happen to her, he would do what he had to do to make things right," explains SB. "Liz isn't necessarily saying 'Take the kid. Tell everybody you're the father.' But that's Jason's intention if Liz doesn't wake up." Enter Lucky. When the doctors say the baby can be brought home, Lucky refuses because he wants the child to stay close to Liz. Jason intervenes, and Lucky snaps "that it's none of his business," previews SB. "Jason says, 'Actually, it is' He's about to tell Lucky the truth." Before he can, however, Liz regains consciousness and calls out Jason's name. "Liz can tell by the tone of their conversation that it isn't good," notes RH. "So she's glad it stops." Later, Liz thanks Jason for keeping her secret. "Liz is extremely grateful for the gift that Jason has given her," says RH. "She and Lucky can have their two kids and white picket fence, but it's hard for her because she can see that Jason is in so much pain." "Giving up this kid is killing Jason," agrees SB. Jason tells Liz that she can thank him "by getting stronger, taking care of the baby and giving him the best life she can so he never regrets this moment." He *will* regret not checking the door, though. Sam is outside listening to every word! "It's that shock moment where your heart pounds, your knees buckle and everything goes numb inside," gulps Kelly Monaco. "I don't even know if the reality of what Sam hears hits her in that moment." Is this the end of Jason and Sam? "These two have such a solid foundation," responds KM. "But can you get past something like that? Sam has got her treasure of secrets, as well. It's a matter of how much you're willing to forgive." *And* whether Liz will be Lucky enough to stop Sam from telling you-know-who what she's heard.
