Fatherhood has brought Steve Closer to His Own Dad
Steve Burton Fans. Unite! If there's one person to give a collective thanks to for bringing your favorite hit ma with a heart, it's the actor's father, Jack.
"My dad was actually the one who got me into acting" says Burton. "That's pretty huge. He suggested that I maybe take an acting class, see how I liked it. That turned into getting a commercial agent and he would drive me around to commercial auditions. That's how it all started. He knew some people in the business. Not that he had connections so to speak. He just knew how to do it without going down the wrong road. Alot of people, when they come to Los Angeles, have no idea what to do. At least he knew some people he could call to get some right answers."
The relationship between the two Burton men has changed considerably through the years. Thankfully, that change has been for the better. "We've had some tough times - as some fathers and sons do - but now our relationship is awesome," assures Burton whose daughter Mackena is now 21 months old. "Me, having my own baby has strengthened that alot, as it usually does. She did alot for our family. It's amazing. Her (being the first grandchild is huge). Any conflicts in the family, whatever is going on, you just realize how important family is once you have a baby. All of that stuff just becomes very trivial."
