Things get complicated when Sonny finds out exactly what Jason and Sam have been hiding from one another and decides honesty is the best policy.

Jason Is Arrested:

Liz is shocked when Lucky arrests the father of her  baby for Alcazar's murder.  Even as Jason is finding out just how bad things are for him at the police department, Lucky returns home to a wife who has a few harsh words for him.  A heated argument erupts, ending with Lucky storming out.  Emily stops by for a visit and arrives just in time to hear Liz vent about the situation.  Emily, however can't help but wonder if perhaps the lady doth protest too much, suggesting that maybe Liz is still in love with Jason.

Amelia's Confession

Sam is upset when she learns that Jason has been arrested from Ric and Jason didn't call to tell her himself.  Meanwhile, seeing Sam suffer prompts Amelia to dash over to see Sonny, hoping for a quick romp.  Instead, he wants to know why she has files about Sam, which seem to focus on her past.  Rather than lie, Amelia lays it all on the table, admitting not only that Sam killed her dad but that she came to town seeking revenge

Meanwhile, Ric tries everything he can to get under Jason's skin, hoping to provoke him to confess to Alcazar's murder. Better men than Lansing have tried without just as much success.  After Ric leaves, Sonny arrives and fills Jason in on what he has learned.  He implies to Jason that perhaps Sam has been hustling him as she has done to men in the past.  Jason immediately comes to Sam's defense. Burton says, while in character, "Why are you taking Amelia's word for it Sonny?  She's a nut job."  Jason has absolutely no doubt that Sam love him.."It isn't an act.  What we have is real.  Sam was with me when I was dying.  We went through the pregnancy.  There were no games involved.  I know when it's true or not true and it is true"  Sony suggests that Jason talk to Amelia. Jason wants the truth, so Jason does exactly that and is warmed by Amelia that he's being manipulated by Sam  As proof of this fact, Amelia drops a bombshell on Jason:  Sam knows that he's the father of Elizabeth's baby!

Sam Wants A Baby

Sam turns to Alexis for advice and admits that she wants nothing more than to have kids with Jason.  But with so many secrets hanging between them, is their relationship doomed?  "If Sam and Jason want to salvage this" declares her portrayer, Kelly Monaco, "they've got to spill it out on the table and try to put the pieces together after that."

Jason is shocked when Amelia, who has become Sam's confidante, reveals that his girlfriend is determined to have his baby, even if it means stealing his sperm and using a surrogate!

Lucky admits to Jason that there's a whole lot of evidence linking him to Alcazar's death.  So when Sam catches up with Jason, he tells her now is definitely not the right time to be thinking about having a child.  "I don't want to knowingly bring a child into my life", says Burton in character, pointing out that the child he and Liz conceived came about as a result of faulty condoms.  Sam is not willing to wait.  "She knows exactly what she wants", declares Monaco.  "It's like she's taking back some control of her life."

Sonny's Shocking Advice

Jason finally fills Sonny in on the truth about Elizabeth's baby when he turns to Sonny for counsel.  Sonny advices Jason to fight for the child.. But, as Burton explains in character, it's not that simple, especially with the very real threat of extended jail time looming.  "Eventually, my life would affect Jake's life.  There's no doubt about it.  As much as I want to claim my own child, it's situations like these where you say to yourself, 'maybe I am doing the right thing in keeping quiet'. It's heartbreaking."

Sam knows all about heartbreak as she is left reeling following a series of medical tests.  With Amelia warning that her relationship with Jason is doomed, Sam admits that everything would be better if Elizabeth's baby would just disappear.  But surely Sam's not desperate enough to go that far. or is she?
